Life is full of secrets, and I don't intend on sharing them... yet.
I kept one hand on the steering wheel, the other hand in my lap, nervously twitching. My eyes focused on the long black road ahead of me. Cars on both sides of me zoomed by. I curiously wondered where those cars were headed. Were they happy, going to a wedding or an amusment park? Were they absolutely miserable, on their way to a funeral or hospital? Or nothing significant?
I shook off the unecessary and nosy thoughts. I blocked out all the sound that I could. I often try to keep an empty mind, it keeps me relaxed.
I got an image of swerving into the minivan next to me and uncontrollably spinning across the long black road to nowhere. I quickly put my other hand firmly on the steering wheel.
I couldn't stand this. I took the next exit and kept driving toward the place I dreamt of as fast as the speed limit would allow. My eagerness overwelming me, I sped up a little, getting closer every second to my desired destination. My hands gripped the steering wheel a little tighter, and I inched forward on my seat.
I looked ahead to the spot I was eager to reach. I was finally there. All the tears, pain, blood, and desire have finally gotten me here.
I climbed out of the car and shut the door behind me. I glanced out to the clear blue sky and the cliff. I pulled the folded up note out of my pocket and held it tight in my right hand. I whispered the first few words; "Life is full of secrets, and now I'm ready to tell."
I breathed in the clean air. Soft wind whipped my hair around my face. I neared the edge and glanced atthe desert land below me. Rocky and sandy. Perfect.
And then I jumped. The note was clutched in my hand, and my head was facing the harsh Earth beneath me. If and when they find me, they will know the truth. They will have the reasons, and they will know why.
There was a thud, a snap, and it was over.
